Biography

I grew up in the Twin Cities area in a musical family that placed importance on not just playing by ear, but learning how to read and write in the language of music. My earliest teachers instilled not only a love of music, but a love of playing.

Over the years, I took advantage of every playing opportunity available to me: I participated in state and national audition programs, accompanied school choirs and singing auditions, as well as playing for churches, weddings, parties and business functions.

It was in college that I decided to pursue music as my profession. Teaching music is the natural culmination of my love for music and the desire to share it with others, in the hope that they will come to love it as much as I do.
